The world of Fashion is changing on a rapid pace across the world. Fortunately India has a major share worldwide and also has a massive consumer base. In order to maintain its competitiveness in the manufacturing segment worldwide, Government took the initiative of setting up Textile Parks across the country. These Parks fall under the cluster development scheme of the Government where similar industries and related auxiliary units are set-up in a pre-defined geography. The Government supports the project by way of offering subsidy on Land & Building Lease, Encouraging Industrial Investments and also offering a gambit of benefits on employment, tax, electricity etc. A not for profit Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) has to be formed by the interested party in order to facilitate the implementation of these parks.
Baramati Hi-Tech Textile Park Limited is one among the 26 parks that were approved by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
Under the chairmanship of Sou. Sunetra Pawar, this park was set up in the year 2008 over an area of 65 acres in the small town of Baramati, the Southern tip of Pune Rural District in Maharastra. Since the town has been declared as an ecological – chemical free zone, the park has concentrated on Garmenters as its members. Today more than 50% of the park is operational with about 15 companies manufacturing garments and allied products for both the domestic and international markets. It has generated employment for the local populations, employing about 2000 skilled / semi skilled and unskilled workers. 80% of these are women and thereby has created a major change in the macro economics of the region. With a handful of units available the park is looking at entrepreneurs / SME or Large brands to set up their manufacturing base over here.
Hon. Sri Sharadchandra Pawarji, the then Agricultural Minister, Government of India, took the initiative of setting up the park in his beloved constituency. His primary aim was to generate employement for the women force, without compromising on issue like pollution and heavy water utilisation.
Under the able chairmanship of Sou. Sunetra Pawar (W/o. Ajit Pawar – ex- Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Maharastra), BHTPL is among the most successful parks operating in the country and is raring to attain the status of the best operating textile park in the country.
The success of any park can largely depend on its operations. BHTPL has been lucky to be under the able leadership of Sri Md. B. Sankeshwarkar - A very unassuming man with tons of experience in areas of operating Sugar Mills and Textile Mills in the region of Maharastra and Karnataka. He has successfully guided the park to achieve many milestones. His leadership has made the park fully compliant. He has also maneuvered the park with utmost care in difficult situations, without being affected by the political bureaucracy in any way. He leaves no stone unturned to achieve success.
- Fully Compliant
- Availability of Labour
- ‘C’ Zone incentives – Govt. of Maharastra
- Proximity to Urban Area.
